Reminder: Many farmers and fishermen face a March 2 filing deadline. If you’re a farmer or work in the commercial fishing industry and you didn’t pay 2019 estimated tax by Jan. 15, your 2019 Form 1040 is due on Monday, March 2. A farmer or fisherman doesn’t have to pay estimated tax for a year if he or she files the return and pays the tax on it by March 1 of the next year. Otherwise, the taxpayer must make one estimated tax payment for the year, due Jan. 15 of the next year. Because March 1 is a Sunday this year, the due date is March 2. Those who chose to make an estimated tax payment on or before Jan. 15, can wait and file by the regular April 15 deadline. Call or visit our website for more information! www.mjscpa.com/
