You can help protect yourself from tax identity theft by knowing how the IRS communicates with taxpayers. The IRS doesn’t normally initiate contact by email. Don’t reply to an email from someone who claims to be from the IRS because it could be fake. Emails from IRS employees end in IRS.gov. The first contact from the IRS is generally sent by letter and delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. In some cases, IRS employees may first call or visit with a taxpayer. But the IRS states: “If the IRS does call a taxpayer, it should not be a surprise because the agency will generally send a notice or letter first.” For more information about how the IRS communicates: https://bit.ly/3zfDV61 Call or visit our website for more information!  www.mjscpa.com/
